In a major step towards enhanced urban safety and smart governance, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced the accelerated rollout of the 'Safe City' project in Noida. Aligned with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) is implementing the project in six strategic phases with a budget allocation of ₹208.47 crore.
A core focus of the initiative is the modernization of Noida’s Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC), which will act as the central hub for real-time monitoring and emergency coordination. Once fully operational, the ICCC will connect all police stations, the city's CCTV surveillance network, and traffic systems into one unified platform.
The project also promises to bolster public safety—especially for women—through the integration of a high-tech Public Address System designed for real-time alerts and emergency communication. Additional innovations include the deployment of city-wide communication infrastructure, an intelligent traffic management system, GIS-based monitoring, facial recognition technology, digital forensics, and a state-of-the-art data center within the ICCC.
Advanced features like ANPR cameras, bullet PTZ cameras, cryptocurrency investigation tools, and panic alert systems will further strengthen Noida's ability to respond to threats effectively. Covering 225 square kilometers, the 'Safe City' framework represents a bold, tech-driven transformation aimed at making Noida one of the safest urban zones in the country.
